This is our third season to offer Laboyano and it has quickly become one of our perennial favorites. We find an incredibly lively yet structured cup profile with notes of citrus, red berries and deep brown sugar.
Laboyano is a regional lot sourced from smallholder farmers in El Valle de Laboyos, an area in southern Huila where the renowned Pink Bourbon variety was discovered. Genetically descended from Ethiopian Landraces, Pink Bourbon is prized for sweet, complex flavors of citrus and florals and a honey-like sweetness. Laboyano meticulously blends selections of Pink Bourbon, too small to be exported individually, alongside finely processed lots of long established varieties like Caturra and Colombia. The result is a coffee that represents the skill and expertise of the producers involved and the the stellar quality potential contained in the varieties and microclimates of Huila.
