Danche

Danche is a truly stunning example of just how clean, sweet and balanced a meticulously grown and processed coffee can be and we are honored to have roasted this lot as the coffee for the 2026 Origami Cup USA brewing competition hosted by our friends at Slow Pour Supply.

Produced and exported by Habtamu Fikadu Aga, this selection comes from the small community of Danche in the Gedeb district of southwestern Ethiopia. This was one of our favorite coffees of 2025 and we are excited to offer it for the second year in a row as this most recent harvest is of especially outstanding quality. We’re tasting a pronounced peach flavor, sparking citrus acidity and delicate, tea-like florals throughout the cup. 

Danche was processed with a traditional washed method, with freshly harvested coffee fruit that was sorted, pulped and fermented for 24 hours before being washed and dried on shaded raised beds for 9-12 days. The coffee was mixed every few hours and further sorted by hand to remove defects. During these inspections, moisture content was measured to ensure drying occurred at a slow, gentle and consistent rate.
