Gotiti

Gedeb has become one of our favorite places to source coffee from in recent years and is the focus of our buying in Ethiopia this season. The lots that we’ve selected from this region all feature an incredibly high level of complexity, displaying pronounced fruits and florals and striking sweetness. In this lot from the community of Gotiti we’re tasting notes of tropical fruit, red berries, and tea-like florals. While it’s a layered and nuanced cup profile, there’s a satisfying sugary quality that ties the flavors together nicely. 

868 famers contributed to this coffee, all growing Ethiopian landrace varieties on small plots or in personal gardens. They deliver freshly hand picked coffee fruit to the washing station in Gotiti where it undergoes traditional washed processing before being dried on raised beds for 12-15 days.
